XANTHELASMA

Xanthelasma are yellowish patches on the inside corners of one’s eyelids. The patches are made of cholesterol that is under the skin. Xanthelasma is usually indicative of impending heart disease. Although the condition is rare, you may get Xanthelasma if cholesterol or fat content in your blood is high. The risks of developing this condition is higher in women, or in people between the age of 30 and 50, of Mediterranean / Asian descent, or if you are a compulsive smoker, are obese, have high B.P, diabetes or high lipid levels.
